2020 saw Absentee record and release his debut single 'Love Letterz', from his upcoming project 'Love Letters of an Absent Mind' set to be released on 28/08/2020. 'Love Letterz' is about the aftermath of a turbulent relationship, set to the sounds of a moody yet lo-fi piano melody, and backed by a punchy drum beat. Absentee displays a sharp and emotional flow, that matches the tone of the subject matter.

'Love Letters of an Absent Mind' is based around the turbulent events of a relationship from start to finish, from meeting someone special, to missing your chance with someone else, to watching them float away in the distance. The project takes the listener through the 7 stages of a relationship, the titles accurately reflect each stage of the story that we all know so well. The early stages of the relationship are painted in 'Something Special' and 'I Don't Wanna Wait', the feelings of finding someone and rushing into something you are not prepared for. 'The Game' takes a more sinister turn as it is the first song on the project that deals with the negative emotions of a relationship, The Game represents the feeling of frustration and it is the moment you realize that something special can turn ugly.

This is where the project takes a dive in a new direction, as 'Missed Chances' is an emotional moment in this tale of woe. The song is about what could have been, and how it is not. 'Swimming in Circles' continues with the same emotional pattern, it is the feeling of being neck deep and not being able to touch my feet off the bottom. 'Love Letterz' is about finding the light at the end of the tunnel, it represents the feeling of moving on and accepting what has been. 'Floating' and the 'Outro' speak for themselves, they wrap up the project and show you that things can get better.

Taking inspiration from artists such as J Cole and Mac Miller, while admiring the rhyme style of Joey Bada$$ and MF DOOM, Absentee is set to be a part in the new wave of young creatives breaking into the Irish music scene, along with his fellow district dwellers at D12 Inc.
